Indonesian Government to the British Government Protest Opening of Representative Office Problem Papua Merdeka In Oxford

- Marty judge does not fit the opening of the office and contrary to the friendly relations that have existed between the two countries

Jakarta - The Indonesian government sent a note of protest to the British Government. The move followed the opening of the Free West Papua office in the city of Oxford, England.

"On our instructions, the ambassador in London has expressed the position of the Government to the British Government," Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa said in a press release on Saturday (05/04/2013).

And even the position of the British Government itself which support the territorial integrity of the Republic of Indonesia including Papua and West Papua as an integral part of the Republic of Indonesia.

"Furthermore, the UK Government also insists that Oxford City Council does not affect the foreign policy of Britain and the view that the decision to open the office concerned is fully Oxford City Council's decision," he explained.

Indonesian government once again pushed for the British Government has always been consistent and showed real policy not to support any action related to the Papuan separatism.

"In keeping with the friendly relations of Indonesia and the UK and in line with the views of the international community related to the territorial integrity of the Republic of Indonesia," he concluded. [sec]
