JAKARTA - Indonesian Ulema Council reject the implementation of the Miss World pageant to be held in Bali and Jakarta, Indonesia, September. Universal queen pageant was spending huge funds that assessed redundant.
"The selection of the Miss World beauty pageant is a form that does not fit with the culture of Indonesia, because it is showing the culture of other countries, so in the eyes of the people of Indonesia seem condescending, insulting national culture such as exposing genitalia of women," said Head of International Cooperation MUI Muhyidin Junaidi in his office,
Muhyidin called Miss World tends to show and demonstrate the behavior of glitz and glamor. "It's counterproductive in Indonesian society and third world economies are still experiencing difficulties," he said.
Miss World 2013 will take place on September 4 to 26 2013 in the Jakarta and Bali.
