Hawta - A cleric who is accused of persecuting his daughter to death was sentenced to 8 years in prison and 600 lashes. The verdict sparked public outrage because it is not fair .
The court stated in City Hawta , Fayhan Al Ghamdi , the cleric , was found guilty at a hearing held Monday ( 7/10 ) . Kalmadi Mohammed of the Human Rights Commission of Saudi Arabia told CNN said that the judge also asked the defendant to pay '' blood money '' to the mother of the boy .
'' The boy's mother demanded the court to punish the defendant with the death penalty , '' explained Kalmadi . '' He ( the victim's mother ) also asked her ex-husband was paying blood money that is legal in the Saudi legal system , '' he added .
Princess Al Ghamdi , Lama , was rushed to King Saud Hospital in Riyadh in March 2012 after being fatally wounded . He is still a five -year -old suffered fractured ribs , fractured bones in the skull , bruises , and burns . Family , activists , and local police explaining that eventually Lama is dying because his end of October last year .
Ali , who is divorced with Al Ghamdi , said that the Lama was tortured during his stay with his father . He added that the Al Ghamdi has remarried and has two children .
